What is spain to uk?
'Spain to Uk' is an event in august 2008 where an individual will be cycling from Gibraltar through Spanish countryside to Madrid, before travelling across the French Pyrenees to Bordeaux before catching a ferry at Cheroug-Octeville back to the Uk and cycle from Poole home.
Why?
To raise money for Cancer Research UK and Macmillian to help them continue with the fantasitc work they do which continues to touch so many people.
Who?
My name is Rob Baker and i am a 20 year old from oxfordshire, I am currently working fulltime at direct legal & collections in brackley.
I have secured a place at manchester business school for september 2008 to study business studys for 3 years after which point i would like to become a business analyst.
Many years ago i lost my grandad to cancer and i always promised that i would do something to help those charities that helped him through the bad times.
How?
I have always been a keen cyclist ever since i can remember! I have tried many decliplines from trials riding, bsx, freeriding and dirtjumping. This year saw the first purchase of my first road bike that i am enjoying very much, something about travling at 40mph with tyres that are less then an inch wide!
Tracking?
With the help of 'trimtrac' and 'vitaltrace' i have implemented a real time gps tracking system. what this means is that any user that logs onto my site during my trip can see in real time my progress! So check back soon!
